Preparing for Active Shooter: Training for Child Care Providers was created at the request of early education professionals and is crafted specifically for the child care providers responsible for infants, toddlers and young children. The training, grounded in lessons from prior mass shootings, will give child care teams tactical methods, hands-on exercises and strategies for responding to an active shooter incident, as well as tools to develop an individualized active shooter emergency plan. This new program is four hours in duration and includes: lecture, case studies, reality-based scenarios and videos, discussion and hands-on exercises. This training has been approved by Maryland for provider education hours.
