About The Event

Having a legal mindset can go a long way toward keeping you, your team, and your child care business out of trouble. This training covers practical steps providers can take to reduce risk, strengthen operations, and create clear expectations with families and staff. Real-world examples of issues that have landed other programs in hot water will be discussed along with how to avoid them by using contracts, policies, and documentation that support consistency and accountability. While this session does not offer legal advice, it will help you think proactively, set up your program for long-term success, and know when to seek outside guidance. This session is being conducted by the Institute for Childhood Preparedness. Objectives: -Identify common pitfalls that can increase legal risk in child care settings -Explain the importance of having clearly defined systems, roles, and procedures to support continuity and reduce vulnerability during emergencies or unexpected absences
